The Death Of Digital Marketing? | All MYTHS On Scope, Salary, and Future Growth DEBUNKED (2023)?

The Death Of Digital Marketing

"Everyone's opening a digital marketing agency
nowadays", "there's no scope", "everyone knows it""Everyone
is trying to enter this field", "You won't be able to do much in this
space"Okay, sure, there might be agencies everwhere, but do the founders
have the skill?Because opening a company is not a big deal, you just need 2
people and a LLP.

Because there are no clients, due to no skill, and you don't
have skills because you never did a job.You just bluffed.Someone said: Hey
there's a 10K client here, hey there's a 5k client there - let's open an agencyIf
people like these open agencies, this is bound to happen. The country which
introduced MBA, didn't incorporate a placement system, then who are we to even
question? And if you're looking for stability, rather try for a govt. job, where
there are 20K seats,

and crores are applying. You're ready to put in 4 years for
that. You're ready to put in lakhs of rupees for coaching for that,But where
there is guaranteed outcome once you make a portfolio, once you grind enough
internships, where you just have the keep patience, not look for money initially,
and gain 6-8 months of experience before applying.80% people get discouraged,
because they don't believe in themselves. They cant accept the fact that there
will be failures initially. But if you get demotivated at 1-2 rejections, you
will never be able to make it.

Nobody gives a sh*t if you're earning or not, if
you have basic survival money or not,.Everybody cares about results, and if you
don't show results, you won't get the job, plain and simple as that.Since the
past 1.5 years of creating content, I've been constantly getting one question."Sir
I am X years old, can I do digital marketing?""Sir my qualifications
are from Science/Arts/Commerce background, can I pursue digital
marketing?""Will I have enough growth?

 Enough salary? etc"How
much time will it take? 1 year? 10 years? etc.Now I've been answering most of
these on my channel alreadyBut today I'll be answering one fundamental
question,Which has been intimidating and demotivating people.First reason, of
such, is "You're taking advice from the wrong people."The people who
don't have any idea about digital marketing themselves. These could be your
parents, friends, colleagues,

etc. They tell you stuff like, "Everyone's
doing digital marketing nowadays", "there's no scope",
"everyone knows it""Everyone is trying to enter this
field", "You won't be able to do much in this"And let me tell
you, this is 100% FALSE.Now, some of these things might be true. Everyone might
be doing digital marketing nowadays, but only 1/100  of them is successful.99 of them shut off,
because of lack of clients.Because opening a company is not a big deal,

you
just need 2 people and a LLP.It takes just 14 days to incorporate the company. But
what about the capital, skills, clients, etc?99/100 companies can't meet this. You
can google 100 companies, which are incorporated today. 99 of them will shut
off in a year.Because there are no clients, due to no skill, and you don't have
skills because you never did a job.You just bluffed.Someone said something
about clients, and you started it.If people like these

open agencies, this is
bound to happen. Now this ecosystem scares people from entering this field too.Lets
see if its actually a terrible field. Now apart from the first reason, wrong
advisors,Second reason is- "You have self doubt"You know you dont
like the job you're working at today. You're in 12th grade, and you know you
want to enter this field,But overthinking,

which is such a big thing in our
nation,I've been a victim of the same myself for years. I had no belief in
myself too.But the reaon I keep getting this question no matter what, is-We
want a certainty, an assurance. We want to put minimum effort, and expect 1000x
returns.India is the only country where there is this "Placement"
culture.Other countries

have networking events, instead of this. But in India,
we have made this closed loop interface,We want the money invested to grow, by
the end of our course. The country which introduced MBA, didn't incorporate a
placement system, then who are we to even question?and say that I did a digital
marketing course, then why do I not have a placement? But there is a deeper
story to it, and not everyone gets placements there too.How can you expect to
learn something in 6 months,

to land 30-40K jobs, that too during recessionYou
can try & run away from it, but the reality is, layoffs are real.Digital
marketing is a part of IT, and IT companies are the ones having layoffs.Twitter,
Meta, and many such. You may name any company, and you'll find out they're
having layoff internally.Who is doing these layoffs, what are the reasons, etc,
instead of going into those specifics,"I dont see a scope here",
"Agencies are shutting off everyday", "

I cant see
stability/safety", "I wont be able to do it."80% of people quit
right here.out of 1000 people, 800 leave at this step only.Where is the
competition?Instead, this is a field with growing economy.Every creator, with
audience from YT, IG, etc, either is expanding to ed-tech, e-commerce,
consultancy, etc.Or is making a customized product/service.Pick any IG
influencer, or youtuber, and tell me, have they not made a side business for
themselves?

These people, who aren't able to publish many videos,Myself
included, I can't push so many videos with proper editing, etc, even though I
need it.Is video editing, copyrighting, scripting, etc, not a part of digital
marketing?Making a video is a economy, a business in itself, do we not need all
these?Do you know, 15-20K startups open up every year in India.Even if we
consider that 90% of them fail, 10% of them are still up and running.which is
like

1500 companies every year, or more. And they're scaling from digital
marketing right? They aren't advertising via newspaper, or radio. They're
obviously going towards where influencers are, etc. These are affordable
mediums too.Don't you think you should hang on? Try to be more consistent, more
patient, work more, fail more.Everyone has their own pace. A newborn can't be
expected to be a cricketer right after birth. The child will grow at his own
pace,

just like our head does too.For developing a skill. you need time,
effort, patience, consistency. And to develop it, you need to channel it through
some work.Which you need to do for yourself first. And when people take notice,
only then you'll be getting work.Let me tell you something.I posted a
requirement for video editiors on my community post a couple months ago.15
people applied, but I didn't find even one good guy.But I got into touch with
an ex- colleague,

who does amazing work, and I'll give the work to him.He
customized his work according to my needs, and no matter how much contract I
offer him, I am  a client now.If he gets
10 of these clients, he can earn 9-10 Lakh/month. A lot of people do this too.You
can pick any creator you like, there are layers beneath themThere are lot of
small creators, startups, consultancies, etc.Everybody needs digital marketing. But
do we have the talent? NO.

Because half of the talent is discouraged only.As I
said earlier, 80% people get discouraged, because they don't believe in
themselves. They cant accept the fact that there will be failures initally. That
their resume won't be accepted instantly. That they might have to try even
40-50 times. That they might have to walk in, reach out to people on IG DMs..Or
try building connections over Linked-in.Or make videos etc over Linked-in, and
put that in my portfolio.

There is a learning stage. Even in jobs, there is a
learning stage. You need to essentially tell people, "If I can market
myself so well, I can do even better for you. Just give me a chance"But
you can't market for yourself too today. You're running after stability etc. This
isn't the time where if you're from IIT, you'll get a job fully assured.Nowadays,
even the bottom 30-40% of IITians get 6-7 lakh/annum jobs. This is exactly what
we call- "Success bias.

"We are just looking at those who made it, not
those who failed. We don't see the grind, the failures, behind the successful
guy.If we were seeing it, we wouldn't be giving up so easy.We wouldn't be
saying stuff like "There is no scope anymore."If you're 18, or 28,
this is the best age.The younger you are, the more you are capable of taking
risks, and being a part of this ecosystem.Third question is- "I want to
see 15-20 years in the future, I want to be at the senior most rank"The
truth is- Digital marketing has only entry and mid level jobs.

If you want to go
above this, you have to aim for a proper "marketing" role.Which includes
traditional media, newspaper, radio, and, digital is a part of it.Digital
marketing is an entry in the ecosystem. It serves as a pathway.Your final
destination is CMO, not CDMO. There is nothing such as CDMO.You're abusing the
fact that companies are paying attention to digital more, and using that,
you're making your way in.And after years of experience, corporates

 will look
at me as a marketeer, and not a digital marketeer. If you make a ceiling for
yourself, you'll never see the universe above it.I'm the Marketing Lead in the
company I'm working for, not a Digital Marketing Lead. That 7 years of
experience I gained, has helped me to get there. When I'll get that
"Marketing" experience here, including digital, then I can aim for
Director of Marketing, CMO.Then i can go higher and higher up the ranks.Negligiable

companies are going to have a super senior role of Digital Marketing.Digital
Marketing is a pathway, through which you get into this.If you have some guts,
you can easily make it.But if you get demotivated at 1-2 rejections, you will
never be able to make it.Nobody gives a sh*t if you're earning or not, if you
have basic survival money or not,.

Everybody cares about results, and if you
don't show results, you won't get the job, plain and simple as that.No matter
if you're from some sh*tty college, or IITs, everyone just wants results.Today's
economy is result based economy. if your skill can't net results, it's useless. You
need to be consistent, and patient. You won't be getting a job right away. Its
doesn't work that way.6-8 months of grind, 2-3 internships,Only then you have
enough content to put in your resume.

Only then you're in that
"Freshers" tag.Otherwise there are a lot of people below, begging for
jobs and going unnoticed. And if you're looking for stability, rather try for a
govt. job, where there are 20K seats, and crores are applying. You're ready to
put in 4 years for that. You're ready to put in lakhs of rupees for coaching
for that,But where there is guaranteed outcome once you make a portfolio, once
you grind enough internships, where you just have the keep patience,

not look
for money initally, and gain 6-8 months of experience before applying. And
you'll earn 25-30K here too, (after experience) same as in government jobs. You're
ready to waste 4 years for that, but not do a 4 month internship for this. For
that same job, and even more growth prospects. You'll probably hit a ceiling in
that government job, but this has no

ceiling.Stop giving these excuses, and
focus on your work, your grind. And if you want even more insights, suggestions,
then drop me a mail personally."This is my resume, this is my portfolio, I
am stuck here, I am not getting accepted because of this."This is called
Practicality.Just whining about how you can't do Digital marketing won't do
anything.

This way, you can't do govt. jobs either. CA, CFA anything is
impossible for you.If you aren't ready to put efforts here, you will fail there
too. You'll fail in the qualification type jobs, because you've declared
yourself a failure in skill required job too.Hope you liked the video. Pls
